2017 Silent Awareness Retreat
Treat yourself to a weekend meditation and mindfulness retreat in a natural setting with a teacher of unmatched experience. Your senses will come alive as you practice mindfulness, meditation and connecting with nature – all in silence at a nourishing and rejuvenating retreat.
Jess and his 15 years experience in Buddhist Thailand brings you:
- Daily instruction in mindfulness (also known as insight or vipassana practice)
- Daily metta (loving-kindness) practice
- Group and individual silent practice
- Dharma talks and guided meditations
- Daily walks and hikes
- Morning movement, connecting with nature and yoga
- Private Reiki treatments (for a fee)
21-23 July 2017 Friday afternoon arrival, to Sunday afternoon departure. Option to stay Sunday night through to Monday afternoon.
At Nirvana Retreat Centre near Bolton on the Oak Ridges Moraine, 1 hour from downtown Toronto. They offer comfortable accommodation, lovely nature in a secluded are, 14 acres of it to explore. Click here for google map location.
Shared Room 2 people: $420 per person (Fri-Sun) or $600 (Fri-Monday)
Shared Room 3 people: $390 per person (Fri-Sun) or $555 (Fri-Monday)
Camping (bring your own tent): $370 per person (Fri-Sun) or $500 (Fri-Monday)
Fees include accommodation, simple breakfasts and delicious vegetarian lunches and dinners, all meditation and mindfulness instruction and use of all activities and spaces on-site including walking trails and small lake. Reiki treatments are available for a fee. Those with food restrictions over and above lactose and gluten preferences should bring plenty of snacks for yourself as we cannot accommodate special requests beyond these. Please bring your own dinner for Friday night.

You will need to secure your spot at the retreat with a deposit of $300 by Interac Transfer or Paypal using the form at the bottom of the page. The balance of the retreat fee is paid on your arrival when checking in at the retreat.

If you have a preference for a roommate, please indicate this at the time of registration. All others will be assigned rooms.
What to Bring
- All personal belongings
- Indoor shoes
- Hiking boots (highly recommended)
- Unscented toiletries
- Mobile phone charger and cord (there is little or no wifi connection)
- Hat with brim for the sun
- Small flashlight
- Any personal snack / meal items to store in the kitchen or dining hall fridge
- Sweaters with hoods
- Warm socks
- Watch / Alarm clock
- Yoga mat (if you wish to practice)
